- The fruit and vegetable section is filled with fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as some that are dried and include frozen and canned.
- Whole grains include brown rice, oats, quinoa, farro, whole-grain pasta, and whole-grain bread.
It also guides people to eat fewer refined foods with added salt and sugar and provides the recommended protein intake per pound of body weight.
It is a positive, new contribution from the 2026-2030 Dietary Guidelines with serving suggestions for each group.
