Make a healthy plate, your own way
Stop measuring. Start making healthy plates. Traditional measuring lessons teach people to memorize serving sizes. This activity set teaches them to fill the plate the way it shows, using foods they actually like. No scales or measuring cups, just a balanced plate they can copy at home at every meal.
A complete activity set, not a box of plastic food. Learners sort the colorful food models into the five food groups, then make a healthy plate their own way on the teaching plate. The free scoring app gives them an "A" when every food group is there along with enough fruits and vegetables, so the lesson feels like a game and sticks.
Tested with high school and college learners. Our young studio team had fun making plate after plate their own way, scored them with the app, and took the lesson home. Some are now cooking healthy plate meals for their families.
Why it beats the old sets: most old-style kits hand you a box of plastic and nothing else. This set includes a free scoring app and a full Leader Guide and Activity Book, with colorful, modern food models your younger audiences actually want to use and share, and it still costs less than half the price of those dated sets.
Turn the healthy-plate lesson into something people can touch and make. Every kit includes 19 different foods plus a teaching plate, with multiple models of many of the foods, 34 food models total, so a whole group can play at once and no two plates look alike.
Bright, modern, and made to be arranged. These aren't the dull, dated teaching sets of decades past. Every food model is colorful and appealing, so making a healthy plate feels less like a lesson and more like a creation. Students and younger audiences love mixing their favorites into their own vibrant plate, snapping a photo, and seeing if they can earn an "A." It's healthy eating people actually want to share.
Perfect for National Nutrition Month, dietitians, teachers, and community health leaders. Works one-on-one, in a classroom, or at a health fair.
Made in our own studio, which means the set can grow
The teaching sets you have been buying for thirty years were molded overseas a long time ago. That catalog is frozen. If the food model you need wasn't made in 1998, it doesn't exist. The food kind of looks like it came from that era!
We print and hand-finish ours here, on our own machines.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is this kit for?
Dietitians, community health programs, school nurses, family and consumer science and health teachers, and community and public-health educators who want a fun, hands-on healthy-plate activity.
What grade or age level is it for?
Fourth grade through adults, ages 9-100. Younger students love making their plates, and the same kit works one-on-one in adult and senior counseling. It fits K-12 classrooms, health fairs, WIC and clinic visits, and community programs. Do not allow children 8 and under to play with it unattended.
How is it used?
As a hands-on activity in one-on-one counseling, classroom lessons, health-fair tables, and after-school or community programs. Learners sort the food models into food groups, make a balanced plate, then use the free scoring app to photograph their plate and see if it earns an "A."
Do learners have to measure portions?
No. Learners fill each section of the plate the way it shows, with foods they like. The food models are sized to look natural on the plate (the chicken breast, for example, is about a 3-ounce serving), but the lesson is balance, not measuring.
What does it teach?
By the end of the activity, learners can identify the five food groups, make a balanced plate that fills half with fruits and vegetables following MyPlate, fill each section of the plate the way it shows without measuring, and self-check their plate with the app.
What guidelines is it based on?
The kit follows USDA MyPlate (MyPlate.gov) and the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
What products pair well with it?
This activity set is often the centerpiece educators use to kit out a whole nutrition program or health-fair table, so it is usually bought alongside displays, handouts, and prizes. Customers most often add the Fruit and Vegetable Shaped Pens (100-pack), Fruit-Shaped Note Pads and Erasers, and the How Much Sugar, Salt, and Fat tubes. It also pairs naturally with MyPlate posters, portion plates for take-home practice, and MyPlate handout tearpads for the takeaway.
Can I order several kits with a purchase order?
Yes. We welcome purchase orders from schools and institutions and can help with quantities for a district or program.
