Free Printables and Tools for Nutrition Educators In One Page

Now you can find the most requested handouts and guides in one place — printable handouts, MyPlate worksheets, and tools that build your quiz, certificate, or crossword in a few clicks. All free, all yours.

Over the years, the question we get most often isn't about a product. It's some version of this:

"Do you have anything I can hand out on Monday?"

Usually, it's a dietitian who's been handed a class with two days' notice. Or an extension agent with a table at a health fair and a budget of nothing. Or a school nurse who needs forty copies of something by first period.

We've always sent people a great handout, and they have stacked up, so we want to share and make this new free resource center on the Nutrition Education Store website - all links are on the bottom left as well as here.

The free resource center is here.

Everything on it is free. No cost, no order required, no minimum. Print it, photocopy it, hand it out.

Printable handouts

MyPlate Teaching Pack — five pages, and probably the most useful thing on the list. The MyPlate diagram, a blank build-your-plate template, a coloring sheet, a worksheet with discussion questions, and MiPlato in Spanish.

Healthy Food Plate Chart — half fruits and vegetables, a quarter lean protein, a quarter whole grains. No measuring, no counting. The simplest way we know to teach a balanced plate.

Muscle vs Fat Chart — why a pound of muscle and a pound of fat weigh exactly the same but look nothing alike, and why the scale can stall while somebody's clothes start fitting better. Good for anyone who's discouraged.

Eat for a Better Mood — eight food habits that support mental health. Blood sugar, omega-3s, gut health, caffeine timing, sleep.

MyPlate Poster — a printable poster, ready for a classroom or cafeteria wall.

Tools that build it for you

These aren't downloads — you fill in a few fields, and they make the thing.

Class Certificate Maker — type the names, print the certificates. Good for the end of a series.

Pre and Post Class Quiz Maker — build a quiz to measure what people actually learned. Useful when you have to report outcomes to somebody.

Nutrition Crossword Puzzle Maker — pick your words, get a printable puzzle. Works in a classroom or on a health fair table.

Class Announcement Flyer Maker — add your title, date, and location, and print a flyer for the noticeboard.

For students and teachers

How to Make a Nutrition Month Poster — five steps, ten theme ideas, and a layout that always works. Written for the student making the poster and the teacher who assigned it.

For conferences

If you're running a dietetic conference, an extension in-service, or a public health meeting, we'll send you free posters to give away or raffle — one for every 100 attendees, with a script you can use.

We've done this for years for state dietetic meetings and extension conferences. It's still the best feedback we get.

Why do we give this away?

We've been making nutrition education materials for more than thirty years. The best ideas we've ever had came from someone in the field.

Putting free materials into the hands of the people doing the teaching is how we keep learning. It's a better use of our time than another branded pen.

If there's something you need that isn't here, tell us. A surprising number of what we sell started as requests from people who couldn't find what they needed.

And if you know a dietitian, a teacher, or an extension agent who could use this — send it their way.
