6 Lesson Heart Health Program
This program includes the most recent recommendations from the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology.
“A healthy lifestyle reduces atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk at all ages.” – ACC/AHA
Patients who are at risk for heart disease often have high blood pressure and high cholesterol, plus other health risk factors like obesity or diabetes. This 6-step program takes a "whole heart approach" to provide lessons on a heart-healthy eating program that works for everything: blood pressure, cholesterol, obesity, syndrome X, and diabetes. It is easy to learn for all populations and is taught in English and Spanish. It is evidence-based and uses the cut points provided by the National Cholesterol Education Program with notes from the American Diabetes Association on their new standards of care for blood pressure for individuals with diabetes.
Learning Objectives and Benefits:
The 6 Lesson Heart Education Kit is a comprehensive collection of heart health education materials to help you teach lessons about heart health. After all, heart health involves a lot more than switching from omelets to egg whites. Setting up habits that help the heart involves reducing daily sodium, fat, cholesterol, and saturated fat doses. It also means eating more fiber and other foods that are key to the DASH diet. Crafting a heart-healthy lifestyle relies on balancing energy intake and output, which usually calls for a total lifestyle reboot for most consumers. Our best materials will help you guide your clients through this process in a systematic manner that is "just what they need to know" and "fun to learn."
A pre and post-test will ensure they learn everything they need to know!
